Happy Belated "30th" Birthday

Cookies for my younger sister's "30th' birthday that was last week.  My stove had not been working for two weeks and had the part replaced last week, but it was bad as well. So finally Monday a new part arrived and was replaced and my oven is working again.  Yeah!

Alzheimer's Bake Sale

My sister is having a bake sale at her place of employment to raise money to find a cure for Alzheimer's. I donated some cookies for the bake sale and since it feels like autumn, I couldn't resist making some decorated autumn cookies. With  football season starting this week I also made a lot of cookies to do with football for the bake sale.

Happy "60th" Birthday Larry

I had the honor of making three cakes over the weekend for one of my best friends dad.  The cake themes were all his favorite hobbies: hunting, fishing, and gardening.  Happy Birthday Larry! (Ruth Ann, Larry told me the day of the party he loved the cakes, but if I would have made a cake with you on it, it would have completed all the loves in his life.)

White cake with buttercream. Treeand deer are made out of modeling chocolate. Tree stand and ladder are the only things that are not edible. I wish I had a picture that was closer showing the little acorns of the ground.  The squirrel has one in his hands.

Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. Everything is edible, except the fishing line from the pole to the fishes mouth. Everything else is fondant.



Carrot cake with a buttermilk glaze and cream cheese frosting covered in fondant. All the vegetables are edible on the cake and made from fondant as well as the scarecrow.

Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's birthday was yesterday and we had a "Surprise 60th Luau Party" for her.  I made a two tiered luau themed cake and cupcakes.  I forgot to take pictures of the cupcakes(pina colada cupcakes with a coconut cream cheese frosting), but my sister took some, so hopefully I will be able to share those pictures with you soon.  Thank you to everyone that came and shared such a wonderful day.





The top cake is chocolate with chocolate mousse.  The bamboo is made of fondant.  The tiki faces are made out of modeling chocolate and all the flowers are made of fondant/gum paste.  The bottom cake is white with buttercream. In the back is a lei that is made of fondant as well.

Transformers Birthday Cake

Cake and cupcakes for a boy turning 5.  The cake is Optimus Prime from the Transformers and the cupcakes have the Transformers face logo.  The cupcake batter was also blue.
