Bikini Pregnant Belly Cake

Baby Shower Pregnant Belly Cake with a Bikini

The cake was white and chocolate covered in fondant.  I would love to give credit the the person who origanally created this cake, but I cannot find the person who made it on the internet. Thank you for the creative idea of a prgnant belly in a bikini.

Thank You Cherie!

Tree Bark Wedding Cake and Cookies

Three tiered wedding cake and 180 wedding cookie favors.  The cake was white cake on the bottom tier, pumpkin with pumpkin cream cheese on the middle, and chocolate on the top.  The tree bark was made out of a fondant mold purchased from http://www.winbeckler.com/ (Cake Supplies Plus).  First time ordering from this compnay and they were great.  The fastest shipping I have ever seen and the shipping didn't cost a lot.  Check out their website, they have tons of stuff.

Back to the tree bark, I used fondant and pressed the tree bark mold onto the fondant.  Then I painted the fondant like tree bark and cut in 1 to 1 1/2 in strips.

The tiger lillies, blooming lillies, twiegs, and berries were made out of gum paste and fondant.  The heart with the bride and groom's intitials along with their daughters were painted on the buttercream.

Thank you Angie and Derek!
Congratulations!

Camo Cake and Cookies

A little late in posting this, but I needed a rest.  It was my son's birthday this past weekend and had it at the Eagle Fork Pumpkin Patch.  Such a great place to have a birthday party.  He wanted a camo/army them party and that's what I gave him..anything for my kids.

The cake is two tiered with the bottom layer being white and chocolate cake and the cake batter being camo on the inside as you will see in the pictures below.  The top layer was an orange cake with pureed mandarin oranges.  Along with the cake I made a cookie platter with camo/army.

The the camo cake batter all you need to do is use your favorite white cake recipe(might need to make double) and divide it in half.  I left one white and the other I colored moss green to give it the army color.  For the chocolate, again use your favorite chocolate cake recipe(you might have to double) and divide in half.  Leave one half chocolate color and the other I colored black with food color.  Then just spoon the different color cake batter in different spots in the cake pan until half or a little over a half full.  Do not swirl the batter once in the pan. Bake as normal.

Happy Birthday Tanner!
I cannot believe your 6 already.

Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower Cookies & Cupcakes
The bride-to-be's fiance is a firemen which is why the cookies are firetruck and I thought it would be cute to make mini hearts in dalmatian pattern with their monogram.

The color for the bridal shower was gold so for the cupcakes I used gold buttercream icing on the white and chocolate cupcakes.  I added a fondant circle brushed with gold luster dust and painted on the white and black monogrammed "M's".

Thanks Carolyn

A Diamond Is Forever...

A surprise party for Becky turning thirty.  The cake theme was "A Diamond Is Forever" because she is a huge fan of Neil Diamond. She's also a music teacher so I incorporated music notes in the top tier.  The cakes bottom tier was strawberry and the top tier was white cake with strawberry filling.  The decorations on the cake was made using fondant and edible diamonds. The fondant ticket on top was when she went to a Neil Diamond Concert in 2008 and I made it out of fondant and edible marker.

A dozen Neil Diamond themed cookies.

Happy "30" Birthday Becky!
Thank You Jess. Your wonderful to work with as always.

1950's Birthday Cookies

Happy "60th" Birthday Ron!

The theme for the cookies was the 50's.  I think I could've made dozens of different cookies for the 50's, such a fun decade.  The cookies for this platter included: mini cookies with checkered floors and 60 on them, records, fuzzy dice, and regular size cookies with a 1957 Bel Air, Jukebox, Diner, Roller Skates, Shoe, Glasses, Shake, Elvis, 1950's Music, Prices in 1952, and of course Happy Birthday to Ron.  I loved the way the Elvis cookies turned out.  I wish I had a Kopykake projector and it would've made it easier, but I like a challenge.  That hopefully will be my next purchase, since I have awful handwriting and the Kopykake projector would come in really handy.

I realized when making these cookies that I say Jukebox wrong.  I say Jutebox, I always thought it was pronounced that way.  How many people out there pronounce "Jukebox" Jutebox?

On to the pictures of the cookies.

Thank You Julie!

Red Velvet Cake with the Original Icing

I meant to post this last week, but I have been super busy lately.  The cake is a red velvet cake with the original butter cream icing made with flour and milk.

Thank You Dan!
I hope you enjoyed the cake since you are the red velvet with cream cheese fan.

Purple & Silver Dots Wedding Cake

In the year that I have been making cakes, I have never done a three tiered cake.  I think it was more nerves on my part more than anything.  I was asked to do a three tiered wedding cake that a couple found on theknot.com and came from one of the best bakeries in Missouri "McArthur's Bakery".  The couple wanted ivory buttercream on the cake and purple and silver dots( I used royal icing for the dots on the cake).  The bottom  and top tier was red velvet with cream cheese layers and the middle tier was white wedding cake with buttercream.

Well I think I'm over my fear of making three tiered cakes.  I was very happy with the cake.

Congratulations to Laura and her new hubby!
